This is a scene from the most famous hacker show on planet earth : Mr Robot. Elliot, the protagonist, uses an operating system called Kali Linux. Let's see what it's about.
History
In 2006 the company Offensive Security, Merged two prior security Operating Systems, Whax and Auditor Security Collection.
They merged these two to give us Backtrack Linux:
Based on Backtrack, Offensive Security rebuilt it from scratch and realsed Kali Linux on 2013 as we know it today.
They made Major changes such as going from Ubuntu to Debian, better hardware support and easier package management.
The name Kali came from the Hindu goddess of power and destruction.

John The Ripper: Yes it's named after the famous serial killer, it's a Password cracking tool that uses brute force.

There are a lot of ways to use Kali Linux. Here are the best 3:

Virtual Box : It's like another computer in your computer. You run two operating systems in your computer. download here
- Normal Os: Use Kali as your principal Operating system. you download the installer Image on your Usb and Install it on your computer here

Usb Live: Just like Linux Tails. You can Run Kali linux from the Usb, if something somehow goes wrong ( probably will ) just unplug the Usb.
PS: When using Usb Live, the Os uses only the hardware on your pc, ALL the software is run on the Usb drive. Use Balena Etcher Here to burn the Os on your Usb.
